Downtown Cherry Blossom Festival Sunday, April 13

From downtownfortwayne.com:

“With spring kicking into full gear, outdoor events in Downtown Fort Wayne have begun. The first spring event of the season is the 2008 Fort Wayne Cherry Blossom Festival.

At the Cherry Blossom Festival, enjoy Japanese games and crafts, the Taste of Japan food vendors, martial arts Dojo demonstrations, and Bonsai displays. See the exhibit of nationally known illustrator, Allen Say, as well as exhibits of local Japanese artists. Watch Haiku presentations and view or try to create Anime art. There will be special performances by internationally known Koto player Yoko Kimura from Japan, professional local musicians such as Daniel Quinn, Dorothy Kittaka and others, Indianapolis Minyo Dancers, Taiko Drummers, and the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir. This exciting family event is free, with a voluntary donation at the door for performances in the Arts United Centre.

The Cherry Blossom Festival takes place at Freimann Square and begins at 12:00 p.m.”
