““There is absolutely no plan at this time to do apartments,” Irwin said. “Our goals remain the same.”
Irwin said having owner-occupied condominiums is important to the mixed-use nature of the project. Harrison Square also includes a Courtyard by Marriott with parking garage and a city-owned baseball stadium.
Sales of the condominiums have been slower than expected, Irwin said, and the economic slowdown is partly to blame.”

“Irwin declined to give the exact number of condominiums already bought but said there will be nearly 20 bought in the next several weeks, according to information the developer received.
Henry said as people return to Fort Wayne from wintering in Florida, more of the units are moving. He added he and his wife, Cindy, are still interested in buying one of the condominiums, although they have not closed on one. “We are patient people,” he said.”

Part of it is people’s reluctance to sell their current house for less than its perceived value.
Somebody needs to tell Pat White (WOWO) to shut it on Harrison Square. The guy is obviously completely against anything that will revitalize downtown. Yesterday he compared Fort Wayne to Gary and their ballpark that sits 20′ off the toll road. He also mentioned that an indoor waterpark would be a good idea. Hmm… nothing gets me excited to move downtown like an indoor waterpark (insert heavy sarcasm here).
I cannot listen to Pat White (and therefore don’t) for more than three minutes without getting completely enraged. He is just plain horrible. What a righteous idiot.
FW, Mike: I totally agree. That dude is cancer in our town.
