What: Northside Neighborhood Home and Garden Tour
When: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday
Where: Neighborhood north and south of the Rose Garden at Lakeside Park, 1401 Lake Ave. Start at Lakeside Park Pavilion, where tickets will be available
Features: Dozen historic homes and gardens; art fair at rear of 1005 Columbia Ave.; horse and carriage rides
Tickets: $8 on the days of tour; $7 in advance at Pio Market, 1225 E. State Blvd.; Crescent Avenue Gardens, 2725 Crescent Ave.; Wearly Monuments, 1058 E. State Blvd.; Deluxe Glass of Fort Wayne Inc., 610 E. State Blvd.; Old Crown Coffee Roasters, 3410 N. Anthony Blvd.; Jim’s Can-Am Specialties, 1301 E. “The neighborhood also is well positioned to participate in downtown revival, adds Bammerlin, who says he enjoys the convenience of city living.

He frequently walks or bikes to downtown restaurants and cultural attractions – and can easily bike on the Rivergreenway from his front door.

“I just really love this neighborhood,” he says. “It’s like being in the center of spokes on a wheel.””
