According to Michael Limmer of the (currently named) Fort Wayne Wizards, the public input phase of the name selection process for Fort Wayne’s professional baseball team has ended.

The decision now rests with the team and its ownership following the initial public input process.

The team’s last regular season game is currently slated to be on August 28, 2008.

Sometime after that date, and after the hurdles and hoops of Minor League Baseball have been cleared, a new name, brand and logo will be unveiled for the team that will call Harrison Square home starting in 2009.

  1. This was a great ploy to garner public interest….in 1993! If I owned a team I would do it, then give tickets and hot dogs to the “lucky” person who guessed the name I was going to give to the team anyway. [I'm still holding out for my Fort Wayne Graham Richards, the short little bobble heads would be a trip! The mascot could run through the stands with a City of Fort Wayne checkbook tossing blank checks to all of his friends]

    Just kidding,
    Kenny
