Parkview Park At Harrison Square?
UPDATE: The name of the ballpark at Harrison Square looks to be Parkview Field.
The website www.parkviewfield.com was purchased yesterday by Streamline Technologies, the website provider of the (soon to be renamed) Fort Wayne Wizards.

Parkview donating to Harrison Square–for naming rights?
“One half of the amount, or $150,000, will go directly to the City of Fort Wayne to establish a Capital Maintenance and Improvement Fund, which will assure that the ballpark remains a first class facility and a great asset to the community for years to come. The other half will give us the rights to use Parkview’s name and services throughout the ballpark – including using our name for the new field, having personnel at the first aid station, providing educational/testing areas (blood pressure checks, health screenings, etc.), providing healthy menu options (may be a first at a ballpark!), etc.”
If one half is $150k then that amounts to $300k per year for naming rights, but for how many years? Guess we’ll find out later today.
UPDATE: INC is reporting the deal is around $3 million which would come out to be 10 years.
This is so promising. Parkview is the preeminent healthcare provider in NE Indiana and it makes sense that it invests in the heart of downtown. All this will do is show how significant downtown revitalization is for the health of any city. It is company’s and health system’s responsibility to support such initiatives to ensure attracting new talent into a community. If I am a surgeon or lawyer or engineer and I am getting courted to move to Fort Wayne or NE Indiana I am going to look at the growth of a city and what it has to offer. Fort Wayne is a great place to raise a family and with the revitalization of downtown it will help protect against “brain drain” and assist in job retention. My hat goes off to Parkview for stepping up to the plate and taking ownership and responsibility of this region. A definite “home run”!!!
