This was our 2nd Critical Mass. We are lovin’ it. Such a fun bunch of people. We are looking forward to the costume ride in Oct. And thanks for sharing the hot dogs. The creativity of the different bike configurations is amazing. A big thanks to whoever got this going in the fort.
The ride was fun, but I hope they move it to 6:00 for October. I also hope we don’t have a repeat of what happened after IPFW. The ride is supposed to be part of traffic not interfere with it. Making someone slam on their brakes and skid to a stop to avoid hitting someone isn’t good.
Blockers are suppose to keep an eye out for cars, and drivers should be paying more attention to whats going on. We are trying to raise awareness and although making someone skid to a halt isn’t meant to be intentional the point IS to interfere with traffic. They interfere with us riding EVERYDAY (with us only interfering once a month) and put not only bikers but themselves in harms way. I don’t know if anyone remembers a few months back when we were biking out by Jefferson Pointe on Illinois road, but cars were intentionally driving recklessly around us, speeding up, stopping suddenly and weaving in and out of packs of bikers!!! That was just a little ridiculous if you ask me and completely unnecessary. They almost hit a bunch of us simply because they were frustrated and didn’t want to go around us without trying to “make a point” for us to get out of their way.
